What is Solum Power? How you help me save on electricity cost?
Choosing Solum Power means accessing a home battery at nearly a tenth (1/10) of the cost of typical backup batteries or generators.
This is possible because the battery engages in grid balancing when the grid is active—charging when electricity rates are low and discharging when they are high. This self-sustaining mechanism helps the battery pay for itself over time, without the need for and control or intervention from your side as a customer (auto-pilot battery system).
As a result, Solum customers benefit from reduced monthly energy bills and a lower upfront investment while these grid activities allow us as Solum Power to earn a profit as well.
How does the Solum system work with solar?
Solar energy is an excellent way to reduce or even eliminate your electric bill while using renewable power for your home. However, during a grid outage, your solar system alone won't keep your lights on.
A home battery allows your house to disconnect from the grid during an outage, ensuring continuous power and true energy independence. Additionally, your solar panels can recharge the battery throughout the day, extending your backup duration.
Solum Power battery solutions are 100% compatible with any solar system.
How well-protected am I during a power outage?
When the power grid goes down, your Solum home battery system takes over, keeping essential appliances and devices running. It seamlessly powers your home until electricity is restored. Once the system detects that the grid is back online, it switches your home back to grid power automatically.
The backup duration depends on your system design, including the number and types of appliances you choose to support, as well as how they are used during an outage. Our Solum Power battery system can power essential loads for 12 to 36 hours. With rooftop solar, backup times can be extended significantly since the solar panels will recharge the battery during the day.
